I took size 41 (the seller's chart said 25.6 cm) - that is, they should fit snugly.
in fact, they turned out to be longer, much longer than I expected

so I think it would be possible to take size 40.

These shoes arrived quickly. I like that they have eva outsoles. I oredered a size 38 to be sure they would fit when i wore wool soxks which they did. The toe area is wide and comfortable. They are a very nice shoe. I would reommend it.
